Olympus Junior High School is committed to establishing partnerships with students and families to ensure student success. As a part of that commitment, we would like to invite you to attend our upcoming student/parent/teacher conferences on October 4-8. You are an essential part of supporting your student’s academic achievement. During the conferences, teachers will be able to address areas of strength, concerns, strategies for success, and supports available to students. Students must attend our conferences with their parents/guardians. The conferences are for their benefit after all! If you are unable to attend conferences, we encourage you to contact your student’s teachers.
All conferences are held in our MP Room from 12:30 - 3:00. Monday, Oct. 4, and Tuesday, Oct. 5 are reserved for students and families that receive an invitation from their teachers. All other students are welcome to come Wednesday, Oct. 6 through Friday, Oct. 8 from 12:30 - 3:00. Each teacher will be accepting “drop-in” appointments for their students. Please come in and fill out a “call slip” for each teacher you would like to meet with and the teacher will meet with you when they come available - mostly on a first-come, first-served basis. This format has proven to be most efficient for meeting with multiple teachers in a short amount of time.
Again, here’s the schedule:
Monday, Oct. 4 - 12:30 - 3:00 for students/parents that receive a teacher invitation
Tuesday, Oct. 9 - 12:30 - 3:00 for students/parents that receive a teacher invitation
Wednesday, Oct. 10 - 12:30 - 3:00 for ALL students/parents
Thursday, Oct. 11 - 12:30 - 3:00 for ALL students/parents
Friday, Oct. 12 - 12:30 - 3:00 for ALL students/parents
Students will have minimum day schedules Oct. 4-8. We will run “block schedules” on these days so that classes will have more time to accomplish important academic work. Students should plan to attend their conferences so they can hear first-hand what they need to do to be successful in their academics. It’s also helpful for the students to bring their backpacks and devices as well!
