The Olympus staff is committed to providing a variety of instructional supports based upon the individual needs of each student. We recognize that students learn at different rates and may need additional support at different points in the curriculum.  Our school-wide supports are as follows:

Study Hall / Math Lab / Science Lab
We are happy to be able to again offer Study Hall, Math Lab, and Science Lab to support our students academically.
Study Hall is an independent study opportunity held in one of the classrooms for students to work on homework right after school.  Study Hall is not a place to “hang out” until their ride comes or practice starts. There is a staff member supervising students and is available to help students with questions.  The Study Hall Schedule is:
Monday from 1:20 - 2:20 in the Library
Tuesday - 2:20 - 3:20 in Room D5 with Mrs. Tapia
Wednesday - 2:20 - 3:20 in Room D6 with Mrs. Blake
Thursday - 2:20 - 3:20 in Room D8 with Mrs. O’Brien
Students must sign in and only work on academics during that time.
Math Lab is math-specific support offered by our Math teachers where students can get help with their homework, ask questions, and prepare for assessments. Math Lab will start right after Labor Day.
  • Wednesday mornings from 7:00 to 7:40 with Mrs. Ducharme (Room C2)
  • Wednesday after school from 2:30 to 3:15 with Ms. Cramer (Room C1); and
  • Thursday after school (2:30 to 3:15) with Mrs. Wainwright (Room C3).
This is an opportunity for your child to get extra support with math concepts he/she may be struggling with. This program is not designed for one-on-one tutoring.
Science Lab is science-specific support offered by Mrs. Zatzke where students can get help with their homework, ask questions, conduct lab activities missed in class, and prepare for assessments.  Science Lab will start on September 11.
  • Wednesday after school from 2:30 - 3:00 in Room B3
  • Thursday after school from 2:30 - 3:00 in Room B3
Remember that pick up times are different on Mondays.  Monday afternoon students are dismissed at 1:20 pm. School is dismissed at 2:20 every other day (except any scheduled minimum days).  You can find all of our bell schedules here:

As you continue to support your student's immediate progress in each of his/her classes, we recommend that you check teacher's websites.  Each teacher updates individual class websites to provide an overview of current work and assignments.  This is a great way to empower yourself as a parent when checking the planner and/or engaging in conversations with your child about his/her homework assignments for the day.

In order to effectively monitor your student's improvement and academic progress, we recommend that you check your student's grades on a weekly basis.  You can access your student's grades by logging on to Power School: https://eureka.powerschool.com/public/home.html You can also sign-up for weekly emails through Power School that will notify you of your student's current academic progress and grades. Please contact the school if you have lost your username and/or password.

We are very proud of the support options that our school has to offer our students.  We look forward to working closely with you and your student to strengthen his/her academic skills.
