Join us for another powerful service learning opportunity, this time Marine Conservation in the Dominican Republic. Students, alumni, families, and friends from Olympus are welcome to join us. Highlights will include working to improve the state of coral reef in the Dominican Republic, coral reef biology and restoration practices, learning snorkeling techniques in order to identify local species of fish, and gathering scientific data within marine ecosystems. We can promise that this will be an amazing and wonderful trip. We will contribute to the health of our oceans and will grow as learners and as stewards of the planet.

On a Service Learning Tour students (and any adults who travel with us) work side by side with locals on community-driven projects in the Americas (and perhaps on other continents in the future). We partner with established non-profits and NGOs—like the Mariposa Foundation and WE Charity—to make sure our contributions are both meaningful and sustainable. Through hands-on work and deep exposure to the local culture, students learn vital collaboration and problem-solving skills. And, they return home inspired to make a difference. These trips are a a collaboration of Ms. Shaw and Mrs. Wersky alongside EFTours. Our past trips to Ecuador (2018) and Peru (2019) were amazing successes. Our plans for 2020 are equally exciting and we have plans to continue to build this program in coming years.
