The Olympus staff is committed to providing a variety of instructional supports based upon the individual needs of each student. We recognize that students learn at different rates and may need additional support at different points in the curriculum. Our school-wide supports are as follows:

Math LabTop of Page

We are happy to be able to again offer Math Lab and Study Hall to support our students academically.  Math Lab is a math-specific support offered by our Math teachers where students can get help with their homework, ask questions, and prepare for assessments. Math Lab will start right after Labor Day.

  • Wednesday after school from 2:20 to 3:15 with Ms. Cramer;

  • Thursday morning from 7:00 to 7:45 with Mrs. Ducharme; and

  • Thursday after school (2:20 to 3:15) with Mrs. Wainwright.

This is an opportunity for your child to get extra support with math concepts he/she may be struggling with. This program is not designed for one-on-one tutoring.

Study HallTop of Page

Study Hall is an independent study opportunity held in the Library for students to work on homework right after school (it is not a place to “hang out” until their ride comes).  There is a staff member supervising students and is available to help students with questions. Study Hall starts August 27 and is open Monday from 1:20 - 2:20 and Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 2:20 - 3:20.  Students must sign in and stay the entire hour. Students must have work to complete or a book to read while they are in Study Hall.

Remember that pick up times are different on Mondays.  Monday afternoon students are dismissed at 1:20 pm. School is dismissed at 2:20 every other day (except any scheduled minimum days).  You can find all of our bell schedules here: http://olympus.eurekausd.org/About/Bell-Schedules/index.html

As you continue to support your student's immediate progress in each of his/her classes, we recommend that you check teacher's websites. Each teacher updates individual class websites to provide an overview of current work and assignments. This is a great way to empower yourself as a parent when checking the planner and/or engaging in conversations with your child about his/her homework assignments for the day.

In order to effectively monitor your student's improvement and academic progress, we recommend that you check your student's grades on a weekly basis. You can access your student's grades by logging on to Power School: https://eureka.powerschool.com/public/home.html . You can also sign-up for weekly emails through Power School that will notify you of your student's current academic progress and grades. Please contact the school if you have lost your username and/or password.

We are very proud of the support options that our school has to offer our students. We look forward to working closely with you and your student to strengthen his/her academic skills.
